These terms apply to the CitizenDays app and this website, provided by the publisher of CitizenDays ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. A planning tool, not legal advice

CitizenDays helps you keep track of the days you spend in and out of countries and estimates where you stand against residence, settlement and short-stay rules. It is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government or government agency, including the Australian Department of Home Affairs, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the UK Home Office and the European Commission.

The app is not legal or migration advice. Its results are estimates, based on the trips and dates you enter and on our reading of the official rules on the date shown with each rule. Rules change, your circumstances may bring in exemptions or rules the app does not cover, and only the relevant government decides whether you meet a requirement. Before you apply for a visa, settlement or citizenship, or travel close to a limit, check the official rules and tools, and get professional advice if you are unsure. If you think the app counts something wrongly, please tell us.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the trips and dates you enter. The app's results are only as accurate as they are.

2. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, resell, redistribute or reverse engineer the app, or use automated means to extract its content.

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you downloaded it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. If these terms conflict with the store's terms about the store's role, the store's terms apply.

3. Purchases

The core of the app is free: one goal, the trip log, your status, the rule explanations and backups, with no time limit and no card needed. CitizenDays Pro is optional and adds every goal, the trip planner, reminders and absence exports. You can buy it as a yearly subscription or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The yearly subscription renews automatically at the price shown in the app until you cancel: payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation and at each renewal unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current year. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. The lifetime purchase is a single payment and does not renew. Payment is handled by Apple or Google, and refunds are governed by their policies. You can restore a purchase on another device signed in to the same Apple or Google account with Restore purchases.

Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country. If your subscription ends, you keep every goal and trip you entered; only the Pro features lock again.

4. Your data

Your trips and goals are stored only on your device. We cannot see them, and we cannot recover them if your device is lost, reset or replaced, so keep a backup file somewhere safe. Our Privacy Policy explains what little data leaves your device.

5. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app or this website: no attempts to disrupt them or to get around purchase checks.

6. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the app and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for application fees, refused or delayed applications, overstays, fines, travel costs, lost time or lost opportunities, arising from your use of the app or your reliance on its results. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory local law.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms, and we will update the effective date when we do. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. You can stop using the app at any time. We may stop offering the app, in which case the app and the data already on your device keep working as they are.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
